As more Americans have adopted social media, the social media user base has also grown more representative of the broader population. Young adults were among the earliest social media adopters and continue to use these sites at high levels, but usage by older adults has increased in recent years.

Immediacy: The time lag between communications produced by industrial media can be long (days, weeks, or even months, by the time the content has been reviewed by various editors and fact checkers) compared to social media (which can be capable of virtually instantaneous responses). The immediacy of social media can be seen as a strength, in that it enables regular people to instantly communicate their opinions and information. At the same time, the immediacy of social media can also be seen as a weakness, as the lack of fact checking and editorial “gatekeepers” facilitates the circulation of hoaxes and fake news.

Posting pictures on Facebook and interacting with fans may sound like fun, but that’s not always the case. When you’re running a business, it can be just one more job to do. It’s also a task with an uncertain return on the investment of your time and…
Amazon’s business strategy, revenue model and culture of metrics: a history I’ve used Amazon as a case study in my books for nearly 20 years now since I think all types of businesses can learn from their digital business strategy. From startups …..
Having social media in the classroom has been a controversial topic in the 2010s. Many parents and educators have been fearful of the repercussions of having social media in the classroom. There are concerns that social media tools can be misused for cyberbullying or sharing inappropriate content. As result, cell phones have been banned from some classrooms, and some schools have blocked many popular social media websites. However, despite apprehensions, students in industrialized countries are (or will be) active social media users. As a result, many schools have realized that they need to loosen restrictions, teach digital citizenship skills, and even incorporate these tools into classrooms. The Peel District School Board (PDSB) in Ontario is one of many school boards that has begun to accept the use of social media in the classroom. In 2013, the PDSB introduced a “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD) policy and have unblocked many social media sites. Fewkes and McCabe (2012) have researched about the benefits of using Facebook in the classroom. Some schools permit students to use smartphones or tablet computers in class, as long as the students are using these devices for academic purposes, such as doing research.
StubHub is great for grabbing tickets to any game in your area. It’s easy to use the app to redeem your tickets as well, and the fact that users can sell via the app means you might be able to save a couple bucks on last-minute tickets.
This social media platform enables you to submit content and later vote for the content. The voting determines whether the content moves up or down, which is ultimately organized based on the areas of interest (known as subreddits).
What would motivate such seemingly intelligent teens to behave so recklessly online? Many people — adults and kids alike — view likes, loves, comments and followers as a barometer for popularity, even within a smaller, closed group. Teens can quickly get caught up in the feedback loop, posting and sharing images and videos that they believe will gain the largest reaction. Over time, teens’ own values may become convoluted within an online world of instantaneous feedback, and their behavior online can become based on their “all about the likes” values rather than their real-life values.

Established in 2015 by the billionaire son of a former Lebanese prime minister, the Instagram alternative earned a handful of mentions at launch and his since languished so low on app store rankings that you couldn’t find it on any officially published charts. But then suddenly, earlier this week, it hit number 1 in Apple’s US App Store charts, and ranked high in Google Play as well.
No rise was more meteoric and none was shorter-lived. Twitter already had a similar app in the works, and just a few weeks later, it pushed out Periscope. The app looked better than Meerkat, but also felt somewhat incomplete.
Instagram is just a platform for photo sharing. Unlike Facebook you don’t create a profile with information about yourself, but just write a short bio. Then you can upload and edit photos directly in the app. People can like and comment on them, and now there is even a direct messaging capability. For personal use, show your friends and family what you’re up to and photos of your cat. For a more professional audience, share photos of what you create and connect with people that do the same thing. Discover topics and people to different people to follow and find your next favorite photographer
Large-scale networks: Large-scale network is a term somewhat synonymous with “macro-level” as used, primarily, in social and behavioral sciences, in economics. Originally, the term was used extensively in the computer sciences (see large-scale network mapping).
Relationship building is such a huge component of digital marketing, and a likable personality can go a long way. With so many people trying to connect with publishers, bloggers, journalists and influencers, someone with a great personality will always stand out and command attention. If you are being pitched by two similar people and one person is the equivalent to talking to a brick wall and the other person is outgoing and pleasant, who are you going to give your time to? The same applies to maintaining relationships — having a likable personality plays such a huge role, yet it’s often overlooked.
With so many social networks out there I wonder if adding profiles to all of them would increase site traffic. We have a website that helps network marketers to increase downline growth at mlmrc.com and we’re constantly trying to figure out new ways to build traffic. My guess though is that these large social networks already get most of the social noise. So would the smaller one’s even be worth taking the time to create profiles on or not? If anyones knows let me know. Thanks.
Smart, relevant, timely posts can help you raise your company’s profile, especially when you use hashtags in a professional manner. Participating in popular hashtags when they are relevant to you works well. As does occasionally using hashtags around your products or services. The key: Keep hashtags simple, clear and unique, so that your hashtags aren’t hijacked by some other brand with something similar.

I find that companies without a digital strategy (and many that do) don’t have clear strategic goal for what they want to achieve online in terms of gaining new customers or building deeper relationships with existing ones. And if you don’t have goals with SMART digital marketing objectives you likely don’t put enough resources to reach the goals and you don’t evaluate through analytics whether you’re achieving those goals.

We receive dozens of emails from startups every week looking for coverage in Tech in Asia, and while some might be interesting, they don’t necessarily send anything newsworthy. Every media outlet worth its salt will be looking for a news peg –- an ev…
Social capital is a form of economic and cultural capital in which social networks are central, transactions are marked by reciprocity, trust, and cooperation, and market agents produce goods and services not mainly for themselves, but for a common good.
Social networking websites are based on building virtual communities that allow consumers to express their needs, wants and values, online. Social media marketing then connects these consumers and audiences to businesses that share the same needs, wants, and values. Through social networking sites, companies can keep in touch with individual followers. This personal interaction can instill a feeling of loyalty into followers and potential customers. Also, by choosing whom to follow on these sites, products can reach a very narrow target audience. Social networking sites also include much information about what products and services prospective clients be interested in. Through the use of new semantic analysis technologies, marketers can detect buying signals, such as content shared by people and questions posted online. An understanding of buying signals can help sales people target relevant prospects and marketers run micro-targeted campaigns.
I love this company!!! We tried quite a few companies over the years. Then I found “Tweet Angels” on Linkedin. I love the photo of the CEO with his son, so I decided to contact him to see what they had to offer. Tom was very knowledgeable and helped us get a better understanding of the world of social media. Their prices are competitive and their responsiveness is second to none! Suffice it to say, we are very happy to have Tweet Angels run the whole gamut for us. It has opened up so many different avenues we would’ve never thought of. A sincere thank you to the Tweet Angels team, from our team at Z.E.N. Foods!

It doesn’t matter how good your product is if you can’t communicate your value proposition to potential customers in fewer than 140 characters. Digital marketers must be efficient and effective with minimal messaging.
Tweet Angels have been amazing. I purchased 100,000 Twitter Followers and they were delivered in 2 Days. A lot faster than stated. This really helped out my client who was in need of a bigger following to impress potential advertisers for their magazine. We will definitely use again.
